AJ”, of Midlothian and formerly of Halifax County died Saturday, March 18, 2017, at his residence at the age of 38.SFC Scott was born in Halifax County on May 1, 1978 and was the son of Mr. Arthur Lee Scott Sr. and the late Mrs. Janet Dismuke Scott.He was a member of Zion Grove Baptist Church and a graduate of Virginia State University.SFC Scott was serving active duty with the United States Army as a budget analyst.SFC Arthur Lee Scott Jr. is survived by one daughter, Aasia Scott, of Midlothian; his father, Mr. Arthur Lee Scott Sr., of South Boston; one brother, Mr. Daryl “Deion” Henderson, of Richmond; his grandmothers, Mrs. Golden McCargo Simms and Mrs. Burnell Lacks Dismuke; his great-grandmother, Mrs. Thurla Lacks; three aunts, Mrs. Patricia Williams of Midlothian, Ms. Golden Scott of South Boston and Mrs. Brenda Smith of Clover; six uncles, Mr. Felix Scott of South Boston, Mr. Cornell Scott of Halifax, Mr. Samuel Dismuke of Clover, Mr. Terry Lee Scott of South Boston, Mr. Chris Scott of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Reggie Lacks of Halifax; and a host of other relatives and friends.Funeral services for SFC Arthur Lee Scott Jr. will be held Sunday, March 26, 2017, at 2 p.m. at South Boston Church of God with the Rev. Quincy Mitchell officiating.Burial will follow in Zion Grove Baptist Church with full military honors.Public viewing hours for family and friends will be Saturday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements are by Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
